The New Bedford Public Schools District English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC) is a group established under Massachusetts law to ensure that parents and guardians of English Learners have a voice in their children’s education. Any parent or guardian of a student who is currently identified as an English Learner, or who was formerly identified as one, is welcome to become a voting member. The ELPAC meets monthly from September through May and gives families opportunities to share feedback, complete surveys, vote on important matters, and help guide district decisions related to English Learner programs. Through regular meetings and collaboration with district representatives, ELPAC empowers families to support improvements at both the school and district level.
